I'm in love with my regular Axis and am now considering an Axis Super Sport -- specifically a Black Sugar with Roasted Neck model. Can anyone who has experience with both comment on the tonal differences and anything else? If I go this route, I may sell one of my Axis guitars to help fund the Super Sport so I just want to make sure I'm educated before moving forward. Thanks.

IMO, Axis is brighter due to Floyd. ASS is slightly warmer and obviously has 5 way to give you some split single combos.....borders on tele/strat like tones, but not a true single coil like sound.

seeing is believing hence I would advise you to try one

I personnaly prefer the ASS to the Axis but mainly because I'm not a floyd guy

I'm not a heavy Floyd user but since I have two Axis models with Floyds, I am thinking maybe I could get by with just one. Hence my interest in the Super Sport. Can I assume the neck shape is the same on both models?

I have 3 of each....I love them ALL!!....The Axis has a little brighter tone....the ASS has a little warmer tone...and with the 5 way selector the ASS can give you a little single coilish twang as well...nice tonal variety...The necks almost feel the same.....You should love the Super Sport too.....I really like having both.....Good Luck!!!
