Hey Glen:

There was a thread a few days ago about how folks are missing the annual "LE" limited edition models (usually a particular color like Blue Dawn, Black with Gold Hardware, Sequoia Gold, etc.).

I think it would be REALLY COOL if EBMM re-instated the annual "LE" model and distributed it through the PDN. These guitars could all be labelled with an "LE 2012" inlay on the fretboard.

What do you think? Same specs as you're already planning, but add the "LE 2012" to the fretboard? Good idea? Bad idea?

Personaly I dont like the LE inlays, 100% personal taste, no issue with the actual workmanship of the logo. Would love a BFR logo on these necks to go with my other roasted neck from the last roasted run though!

Reflex Ordered!!! Now the wait.....thats the real torture!

Please, no LE/year number inlays on fretboard! Love the new guitar/color/fretboard/roasted/pau ferro!

I think i may have just received a "green light" on this one...
All questions have been answered about the Y2d which is tempting...

but i do have to inquire about the Reflex...
The body from what i understand would be a mahogany body stained with a figured maple top with binding... so it would be similar to the 25th but in a different color...

would this be correct in my thinking?

A Reflex is essentially a 25th. Chambered Basswood body/Mahogany tone block/Maple top.
This guitar would be a chambered mahogany body with maple top..

Glen- is it a figured top? or plain top?

Peter, I just spoke with EB on the phone and asked this same question. The Reflex body would be mahogany with binding and the top would be the standard non-figured maple top (like what is used on the production model Reflex in Vintage Sunburst)

Glen- is it a figured top? or plain top?

Peter see Pete's comment. It will be a plan top because Reflex' have plain tops. Y2D's and A.S.S. and Axis ect will have figured tops because that is what the normally have

I was never a fan of the LE + year inlay either. I did like the oval inlays on the DD2s though. I also really like the inlays they use on the maple boards of the BFRs. I also think THIS current offering is the coolest to date...someone want to give me a loan? Hehe

This is absolutely right.

Wow... Didn't know there were LE inlay haters out there!

Just put a BFR stamp on the 12th fret:):):):):):):):):):).

Only BFR's ordered in this "Honey Roasted" package will have that BFR inlay (BFR JP6 or BFR Axis for example).

I too think that the LE 12th fret inlays, and for that matter the BFR inlay, are just too shouty. I'm more for subtlety and would prefer a specially stamped neck plate or something written on the BACK of the headstock!

I prefer debadged cars and t-shirts without brand names written all over them too fwiw!

Sorry BP. I thought it was a cool idea, as I loved the LE's and the inlays. In any case, this PDN series is K-I-L-L-E-R and I plan on getting an Axis and maybe a Silhouette!

:D:D OFFICIAL END OF LE INLAY HIJACK :D:D
