Wow - there was a bunch of these?

Thanks to all for the descriptions on tone.

Hmm - a Mahogany HH with a coil tap on the neck pickup would double as an HS?

Now - how soon until we can order one? Oops - I forgot - I just got a new Bongo. Well - there is still room for more...............

I'm all about a 10th Anni. Trans Burst Mahogo-Bongo! That is if that is what BP and Dudley deem best. I trust their judgement. But just sayin' I'm definitely in the "Yes Please" category on this one.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread.... 'cause baby, it came true.... And a year early (if you were looking forward to the 10th anni.).

You gotta give BP and crew major props for listening to the people... Because even if its just in my head I see this offering as a really cool way of hooking the Knuckleheads with Hog Bongos, with unfinished necks even... way cool IMHO. Sure there will be some awesome Rays, Sterlings, and what not made in this run..... But we all know deep down it's about the Bongos! :)

Hey Matt,

Where ya been buddy?

Moving back to Florida! :). We've been busy settling in, adapting to new jobs and trying to sell our house in TN. Needless to say I've had little extra time or money, so no basses for awhile.... Although I'm thinking that's going to need to change shortly. :)

How's everything going with you? Some exciting stuff happening around here, huh?!

:) You said it Matt!! Way cool indeed.

Piezo is definitely available - I've got quotes on a 'Hog Bongo with piezo and unlined fretless.

Ding Ding Ding- we have a winner!

It is going to be about the Bongo- big time. Mahog Bongos?, who would have thought it would happen. These could be the greatest Bongos to roam the planet, except for the game changer ones in the future. I think I'm going to go 5HS, it seems to be the config I reach for most of the time.

A Mahogany Bongo? Wouldn't that thing be unbearably heavy? I've never played a Bongo, but it looks big and mahogany sure ain't a light sort of wood.

BP said African Mahogany is pretty light like Basswood. It may be a slight bit heavier but probably not by much. Keep in mind too that these will also have the new lightweight tuners as well.
