Is the Humbucker pickup on it in the sweet spot as the single H Bongo or is it positioned in the same spot as the HH Bongo?

I remember somebody saying not too long ago that the H was a little closer to the neck.

It is closer to the neck just slightly but the HH configuration is not bad either. I would like to play a Bongo HS some day and see how they compare to the H and HH configurations. I want to do the same thing with a Sterling too.

Bridge H is in the same position and the edge closest to the neck for the neck pup, either H or S, is in roughly the same spot. There is just a larger gap between the pups on the HS. This is because there is a hidden S under the pickguard for humcanceling.

I personally prefer the HH tone, but the HS is really nice too. It has a clean bell slice thing going on for it that is fun blended in with the bridge bucker, or solo'd for some styles.

What I like about the neck H is that it's fuller in comparison and has more "texture". Oddly enough, it's more "woody" to me.

You really can't go wrong though, and with the blend knob on the Bongo the actual pup config matters less because you can use the blend to great effect. Granted, there will be a little bit of ground that is unique to either.

Now single H or piezo is a whole different thread :).

Above is simple my opinion, and YMMV. It's a Bongo, no matter what it's going to be awesome..... :)

My bad, you guys are right. My main point was that the extra space is behind the neck pup, not between the neck pup and the FB. I know slap/poppers care about this to an extent.

Both are awesome axes indeed though!
