Hello,

I am new to the forum here. I am about to order a brand new EBMM BFR Axis in either Quilted Cherry Burst w/ maple fretboard or Quilted Bahama Blue Burst w/ maple fretboard.

Has anyone seen both in person and have an opinion on them or one?

I am a big EVH fan and I wanted an Axis for a long time now so I am splurging for the BFR edition.

I usually love falshy guitars but the Bahama Burst seems so exclusive and EVH like since it reminds me of one of the EVH finishes from the early 90's.

But, Cherry Burst is so classy and classic in general.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Hi Axis,
welcome to the forum!
Why don't you try one of the Axis Tribute guitars with the hand stained tops and brown back? You won't get closer to an original EVH!
Cheers,
Mikey

I actually prefer the look of the BFR Axis. Just was not set on a color. But thanks for the recommendation!

I have a Pacific Blueburst Axis which is similar to the Bahama Burst and its just so classy looking with the zebra pups and cream binding. If I had to choose between your two choices, I'd go with the Bahama.

Here's mine...

Bahama Blue Burst! Actually, my favorite BFR color is Ruby Red Burst, looks amazing on a BFR Axis.

I do love the Ruby Red Burst, but with a rosewood fretboard. That said, Bahama Blue Burst is quite nice.

You all have been very helpfull. Even the guy who thought he wasn't, lol. That Ruby Red Burst is nice, but I'm a blue guy over red. Cherry Burst you can never go wrong with, but I think the payoff on the right quilted Bahama Blue Burst may just be the deal breaker!

Thanks!!!!

I would of also of said to jump on an Axis Tribute as you have some great Trans finishes to choose from and the quilts have been insane. But if you want a BFR I think Bahama Blueburst is definitely one of the best finishes they ever came up with.

Bahama Blue Burst!

I have a BBB BFR JP. It's an amazing finish. Be prepared for it to appear darker in indoor lighting than some well-lit online photos make it look. But, low light or bright light, boy is it beautiful. And as someone else mentioned, the zebra pickups will look great against the BBB.

I know it's not part of the poll but just throwing this out there.

Personally I love the Emerald Green, maple neck and the BFR fretmarkers and emblem look the absolute best on a maple board. Doesn't compare to the rosewood version.

I'd go for a Quilt top if you can find it but the Flame is nice as well.

This one belongs to grandmacpubah and it is a stunner. (Super Sport BTW)
