:cool:OK just returned home from the opening day at the Dallas International Guitar Festival, as always awesome and super busy already. Got to hang with Derek, Glen, Robbie and several other GC employees I know. Also ran into a couple formites and came within 10 feet of Eric Johnson, and tommorow get to hear him play.

So lots of EBMM's andstrings. And well things started selling fast, both Darklords were sold in minutes of the doors opening and Luke III going fast.

Have to say Luke III is an impressive guitar, shocked at how much I liked it. Luke did a damn fine job selecting these passive pickups and well I love coil taps/ splits which it has.

And if you like one offs man the blue mahogany Luke is awesome and so light, so enough review here are the first pics, I took quite a few today and will upload them in a couple different post, also going back Saturday with a fellow knucklehead so more pics on day two, ENJOY:D:)

BYW: If you see something that gives you GAS, call Robbie Gustin and he can hook you up tell him you saw my pics on the forum- 682-225-0221

So jealous that you got to try a Luke III! Did you play the S/S/H or the H/H or both? Mine won't be here until next month I believe.

Both, and both were awesome but my preference is dual hums so that one won me over, plus it was EBMM black and all chrome including pup selector and trem bar.

Just awesome, they had 4 Luke III's when the show opened and only one remains!!!:)

Yay! I'm getting the HH version. Can't wait~! Not surprised they are sold already... those are sharp looking!

Were there no Albert Lee with single coils?

Great report Keith. That 4th pic looks like a candyshop colorwise haha. Quite tempted on the LIII HSS Olive gold. Looks SO sweet! No Money though, saw a Luke Koa for sale for around 6500 dollars here, go figure haha ;)

Thanks Keith. Can you elaborate more on the sound of the HH Luke? Position 2 and 4 are the single splits-----did they convincingly give the single coil sound? How was the split compared to a HH Al? Did the humbuckers rock harder than the emg 85?

Thanks!

Thanks for the pics and the report. By the way, if you are still there on Sunday or whoever is, make sure to check out Andy Timmons!!! He is a freakin genius, and will blow your mind. He will be playing the Sgt. Peppers album.

the darklord does look great as do all the others. I want another Y2D now!!!

Had I known this, I might have flown to Dallas. AT has the best tone on the planet, IMO. Simply awesome.

While I would not call it true single coil tones in 2 and 4 its close what does give you some killer tone is the coil boost/split/tap not 100% sure what to call it, and it is quite different from an HH AL
