As many of you know, I have a Stax tribute band with my daughter playing his lines. This one hits especially close to home for us. And we just lost Andrew Love last month.

Heaven now has a bass player who can turn goat piss into gasoline.

RIP, Duck.

He's a big influence on my attitude on how the bass should be played. Very sad news, indeed.

Never too much, never to little. It is hard to imagine his basslines played any other way. One of the true giants. R.I.P. Mr. Dunn

RIP Duck

One of the best.

He was a machine! A skill plus taste machine! "gettin ready world" by Freddie King is on my mp3 player. 5 long years is world class walking blues IMHO and if you can play this riff tight throughout the whole song on time with no flubs you are tops in my book. I can play it easily a few times in a row. Thank goodness the bands I have been in want the Clapton version. I throw the 3D version at em too though. That would be Donald Duck Dunn.
