Some Ball porn for y'all.

The idea was to import a few Tributes to fund a gold one for myself, so that I don't have to worry about putting time on the EVH.
Turns out the gold Tributes are rare, so I was forced into getting one of those first, which makes this deal go ass-backwards for me. Maybe I'll manage to keep it, but it depends on a few things falling into place.
It also came with a wicked flamed neck, which makes it harder to part with, should I do so.
Anyway, worth a group shot when they are all together.
I did post the true gold for sale when things were tight, but managed to hang onto it, and it is my favourite players guitar.

Sweet pics. Glad that you got to hang onto the True Gold one...don't think that I've seen another one on the forum or anywhere else.

Each in isolation is a good looking beast. Comparing the vintage golds is not going to be something often seen, and they are both great colours. I think the Tribute is closest to a vintage colour as if it has greened up, and the evh is more of a straight shoreline gold. I actually prefer the Tribute's hue.

GK - I have also never seen another true gold model like this one, although they always make a small run of each type I believe. The rosewood adds a sizzle to the top end that separates it from the others; it is a fuller spectrum sound.

understandable that the gold evh steals the show - I got lucky when that one came up many years back.
it will be bequeathed when I'm pushing up the daisies

There were not many around, so I'm pleased you snagged one.
The Tribute stands on its own as a great guitar, and sounds the same as the original.
Oddly, the original has a lacquered headstock and black back, whereas the tribute has the oiled finish and chocolate brown back.
Was the EVH originally a brown back, and then changed at some point I wonder?

Perhaps the differences are voluntary. The original EVH guitars are collector items, thus if the reissue are too close, some scammers will try to counterfeit the reissue in order to sell them as NOS EVH.
Just an idea ...
