Hey, just got this guitar and don't have any clue what it is? Music Man Axis? Value? Pick-ups, wood, etc? Appreciate any help.

That's an OLP Axis copy (I forget the model number).

OLP were licensed by EBMM to make entry level versions of the Axis, Luke, a possibly Petrucci models, and Stingray basses. Some of them are regarded as great value for money, though some of the later models (before EBMM withdrew their license) less so.

The OLP was later replaced by "Sterling by Music Man", who make a fantastic range of instruments in the mid and lower price ranges, and regarded as superior to the OLPs. Music Man doesn't have any serial number info in their data base for OLP instruments so it's hard to say much more about your particular guitar.

Current value of OLPs? Not a lot. Somebody else will chime in who knows more.

How does she play? Looks nice! And welcome to the forum!

It's an OLP MM1, which is a licensed copy of a Music Man Axis. Wood.....who knows? Cheap wood. Value.....about $100-$175 USD. Pickups.....generic, but very good for a cheap pickup and they are probably the best thing about this guitar. Do a search on the forum for OLP MM1 and see what you come up with. I've owned a couple of MM1's over the years. One of them was good and the other was junk. It's all luck of the draw.

So where is the SN? Cannot locate it anywhere? :/

I don't recall if the ones I used to own even had serial numbers on them. Regardless, OLP is no longer in existance (to my knowledge) so a serial number is useless.

$50 is a great price for that guitar, assuming that everything works properly.

$50 with the case! That's a great deal!

Only a couple years ago, Sam Ash had a few leftover ones brand new for $159. I was considering buying one but found a Benji model locally used for $100, so picked that up instead.

Prices tend to be all over the map because people don't know what the heck they are. I've seen people asking $800 for one (and of course never selling at that price) and others in the $125 - $150 range. Collectors who have multiple EVH's buy them up off of craigslist as wall art. Cheaper to put a $100 guitar of that shape on a wall than a $2000 EVH.
