and can't decide which model to go for. I'm really torn between the two variants of the LIII.

Any insight? I'm really tempted to go with the HH III, but I don't have a guitar with a single in the neck. How do the split positions sound on the HH III?

Pretty straty(in a good way) without the volume loss. I tried both, and I just can't play with a middle pickup-I hit it. Which is why the DL works so well for me. Though I bet it would be a simple tweak to make position 5 a split hum if that was your preference. That is how I look at it(having owned a suhr and wishing for a neck humbucker). You can always split a humbucker, you can't duct tape in another coil on that single ;)

I will try to make a quick video of the clean tones of all 5 positions this evening and post back
