Hello-

I've owned Sperzels in the past and they have a small rod that clamps up on the string by way of the thumbscrew under the machine head.

Can't figure out how the Shaller works.

I'm restringing the guitar and 4 of the strings were no problem but 2 of the tuners won't seem to release the locking mechanism enough to allow a new string in.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

i've had this happen a few times you might have to use a smaller string to push the rod down...

but if you can't get the rod to drop call customer service.... they're incredible

If you have an issue with the low E and A strings, uscrew the thumbwheel a little more, and insert the string as straight through the hole as possible. Sometimes that happens...but yea, if you're having more issues call CS. They should work exactly like the sperzels really.

If you tap firmly on the top of the tuner with the tip of your finger a few times AFTER you unscrew the wheel almost all the way off, the rod usually drops down.

I have done that several times in the past. To avoid the problem altogether, I usually wiggle the heavy strings in the hole on their way out before I put the new ones in. Since I started doing that, I never have this issue any more.
