Maybe one of those "cut-out" buttons like EVH has on his new touring guitar? EVH uses it for the machine gun effect that folks do on a LP when they turn volume off on neck pickup and then quickly toggle between bridge and neck on the switch. He uses it in You Really Got Me after the solo and right before the "quiet" part with the moaning and whatnot. EVH's is a big stupid red button, but maybe Luke wanted the same thing but less obnoxious?

I'm sure Dudley or BP know the real answer instead of my stupid speculation!

Maybe it's a LED light than indicates to the guitar tech that it's time to wipe the fingerprints/sweat off the guitar. In this case, it would be glowing pretty bright!

Yeah! Looks like he is an olympic gymnast -- that looks like that white chalk powder all over the guitar. If it was still the '80's I'd say it was some other kind of powder!

Its probably a blanking plate covering a hole where the volume knob used to be. Maybe it was a prototype that sounded really good and Luke wanted to try moving the volume?

may be this switch is like the one which is used by Guthrie govan, to have the bridge pick up directly in the output jack, without the electronic used with the 5 selection switch and tone/volume pots. You can like that have the full bridge pick up heavy sound fastly, and an other selection pot vol/tone/5 positions switch by killswitch action....

this killswitch is interesting....Thanx Ily ( papy saucisson \m/ ) for this topic.

That's an alternate location of the boost/spank switch on an earlier prototype.
