I just had a used MM JP6 Mystic Dream Colour and love it except for the thin neck. I'm used to play big bat neck shape of a Strat and chunky 50's style Gibby. Although i'm a "blues kinda guy", I always have a big desire to have a EBMM. First start went great with my Axis cause the neck is still pretty thick for a rock guitar. When I bought JP6, I was amazed with the finish and sound, but the thin neck is really hard for me. I also keep slipping on my first string in higher frets. A good friend of mine just asked me if I'm interested in trading with a brand new Silhouette in piezo. Silo really fits my style and the neck is comfortable in my hands. I'm hoping you guys can help me decide the trades ? My concern is the resale value of Silo is not in the same league with the JP. Or maybe I'm wrong ???

This is a bit tricky and depends on a few factors. If you bought the JP brand new then you have a little over $400 more invested in your guitar since the Mystic Dream finish is an upgrade equal to the price of the Piezo. As far as resale the JP model is the #1 seller for EB so of course it would be more desirable to more people as far as resale, but the Silo with Piezo is an all around great ax and very very versatile one. Considering you dont get on with the JP neck it would definitely suit your needs better. See if he could throw a few dollars or maybe a pedal or other piece of gear your way to even things up. You sound like you really dig the Silo and will put it to work, if you guys are good friends I believe you could reach a happy medium. I own basically at least 1 of every EB model except a Luke and like you the onlyone I had an issue getting on with was the JP-because I also like a chunkier neck. If I were you I would work something out to swing that Silo on my rack.

Thanks for your wise opinion. I tried my JP6 last night and it seems that I'm gonna keep the JP6 and will figure out how to get that Silo on my rack.:)
