E.B. Stingray 5 Bass Care

Can anyone give me any tips on cleaning e.t.c. I have just bought a Stingray 5 and want to keep it pristine but i am unsure how to clean the neck, E.B. site says use lemon oil but others on the net say dont. Whats the best way to treat the neck and fretboard and keep it in good condition.

Dont want to treat my baby with disrespect!

Not sure what wood is used on body and neck or fretboard, checking this out on serial thread.

Yes ! congratulations on your gr8 aquisition ! As its new you wouldnt need to worry about cleaning it yet , however ernie ball wipes are the go . I always keep a good , clean cloth in the case and wipe the body and neck over each time ive finished using it , being sure to pull it across under the strings up and down the neck . And we would like to see some pics !!!!!!!!!!!!

Its got a clear pick guard at the moment but i am going to change it as i dont like how you can see the electrics.

Looks great! I agree it needs a solid guard. Since its NOT a brand new bass, do you think the neck need a good cleaning? If that's the case, buy a bottle of Murphy's Oil Soap. Give it a good cleaning. Then get some EBMM wipes for the fretboard, and use a nice sold rag each time after playing to keep the neck nice and smooth.

I'm sure others will chime in here.

Yes it needs a clean but is in good condition, just dont want to do the wrong thing. Neck is in good nick and quite clean but seems a bit dry so wanted to know best way to sort it, Thanks for info

You can continue to see all that red stained wood, but hide
your electronics. Clear PGs ocassionally double as picture
frames. You just need to find, or make, a suitable visual on
paper stock to slip under that corner of the PG. If it were
mine, I'd take a try at shaping a "chrome banana" from a
sheet of silvered mylar, to mimic the iconic chrome control
plate of an SR4.

From what I can see in the provided pic, the tronics look
really cool peeking out from behind their knobs. Woudn't
be a bad idea to just let it be.
