So I had a chance to handle one of the rosewood necks yesterday for the first time. Holy wow! That has to be the best feeling neck ever. I'm not 100 % sure about the profile, but that neck sure felt nice. Like I need another guitar..........

Same profile. Soft V. Extremely comfortable. Some people can't get on with a soft V profile but I think it's the best MM profile.

When I picked up the LIII it was the most comfortable feeling guitar I've picked up next to my Y2D. I had absolutely no problem bonding with it. I did own 2 LUKE II's before, but the LIII is perfect with the larger body, silky smooth rosewood neck and the passive pickups.

To me, at least on mine, they feel nothing alike. The L3's neck seems a bit larger and not as V-pronounced as my Luke 2, which feels tiny by comparison.

it's real or just a sensation ?

i've noticed that each guitar have his unique neck which is hand crafted
maybe rosewood give this sensation

:):)

No, they are undeniably different. Spoke with another forumite that has both Luke 2 & Luke 3 and he has said the same thing...

i know is difficult but can you compare with an other or your guitar or measure it at nut and last fret
maybe the V isn't pronounced than before
EBMM give the same dimension on her website FOR LII or 2
1-5/8" (41.3 mm) at nut, 2-3/16" (55.6 mm) at last fret

thank's
;)

I do have to agree as well though. I do remember the LUKE 2 feeling smaller. The LIII felt a bit chunkier and fuller.

I was told by Brian Ball the neck profile is the same. Perhaps it's the hand sanding that made yours feel different or even the Rosewood gives it a different feel. It's a soft V and not a hard one but definitely a v profile.

Those measurements are correct on both guitars - which is odd because L2 feels smaller and even the string spacing feels tighter. It could be the V shape, it is more pronounced on the L2.

In fact, I like the L3 neck so much more (mine is a HH) I have toyed with selling my L2 to by the SSH version of the L3...

If the L3 has a chunkier neck than the Luke 2 then I don't think i'd be wanting one. I struggled to adjust to the Luke 2 from the Luke 1. For me the Luke 1 neck is the best.
Also the L3 doesn't have the EMG's which is an another dealbraker for me, I love the EMG's. I quite like the idea of the slightly larger body shape though.

So that said, I would conclude I don't want an L3. Okay, well maybe just one (for display purposes only haha) :D

I say try it...it is a very nice neck, quite comfy and easy to play.
