My first ever MM was a trans gold Axis and it blew me away from the first time I played it. The only thing I didn't like was the FR bridge (still don't) as I find them a bit fiddly so I progressed onto a JP6 which has, for me, the best ever bridge and is great to play. This became my main squeeze for several years until recently when I've had this sudden obsession with Silo's, AL's and the Reflex. The Axis had, I'm afraid to say taken a bit of a back seat. Until last night I decided to pull the Axis out of its case and have a little blast which turned into an extended jam and by the end of it my fingers were killing me and I had a manic grin on my stupid face. It was almost like it was alive in my hands.

I hope I never have to settle for having just one guitar but if I did, I'm pretty sure the Axis would be the one.

For me, the only thing that really competes with my Axis for playing time are my Super Sports. :D

Nice! I love that feeling of reconnecting with a guitar. Like an old comfy pair of jeans . . .

Great story

I think the Axis is almost the ideal - my nirvana...except I really don't get on with HB, and just love the sound of SC pickups. I'd love one of the old sports, but being picky, I'd wish for the amazing finishes that only EBMM seem to be doing these days.

Dream on Paul

I sold all my guitars when I moved to Europe and kept one, my Axis. I've been casually looking at possibly buying another (new or used) but I'd like to get something equally good in terms of quality and just not interested in anything. I'm totally at home with the way the guitar feels, sounds, plays etc. I'll go to the store and say yea that one feels good, but why spend money all that money on it when I got something at home at completely kicks its all. So I'll just wait till I can afford another MM

The Axis is a great guitar. I have so many others, but had to sell them off. The Axis is the one I kept. Great feel and tone. Love it.
