OK, ...there are some more, before I put strings on it:

I hope You guys like it, ...I wrote before how much I play that bass and how tired I am of cleaning maple fret board, so I decided to leave it to the professional to do sanding and paint job the best as possible! :)
(frets are just polished, everything else is original like it was made in factory)

I wonder if this paint job could disturb sound character of my "White Cadillac"?

I hope not to much!

P.S. ...now I should put this fret board close up pic to another thread, guess which one? ;)

And, ....BP, ...don't kill me please! :D

It's the same finish on the fret board and on the back of the neck, ...but it's kind of modern paint job finish, looks like high gloss vintage, but feeling for the left hand's thumb is more like a satin, ...no thumb slipping or sliding like it was the case with old fender necks!

I'm really very pleased with whole "project" and it wasn't too expensive at all!

Of course, a real review I could write only after a first incoming gig somewhere in October!

Put an old set of strings on it, strings washed in nitro, ...will do the job until I visit my dealer to pick up a new set of Cobalts!

Feels really great for playing!

I just released a truss rod a little bit, ...it's been a really cold last week in my area, ...however, ...when I play it, it's like have a new/old bass! Sound seems to me a little bit brighter when bass is unplugged, I'm not sure, maybe it's just subjective, ...I'll check it when plug it in amp, tomorrow probably!

Bump for new finish! I don't like original MM maple finish (unfinish) on maple board basses.
Sorry...
Anyway, enjoy Keko!
Tonci

Thanks dude,

You know Tony, ...I'm really sorry You get rid of Your beautiful stunning BFR roasted Black Sugar Ray, ...but I'm also glad that wonderful '95. SR4 natural rw is still a keeper in Your home!

See Ya at GF! ;)

Do you think roundwounds will rub thru the finish. What type of clear coat did you use.

I don't know, we'll see about that through the time, ...young gent who did this job said that shouldn't be a problem with round wound strings prints on that finish, ...also about that fret board finish, I'm still not sure, ...it's kind a manufacture secret, ...I don't wanna talk about that here!

PM me for some more details, or a contact!

Bass looks great Keko - how does it feel to play?

Any sound difference.

Feel to play is awesome, ...unplugged sounds brighter, ...didn't find time to plug it in yet, ...sorry ...I'm very busy lately with my primary occupation!
Hope I'll check sound character this evening through the studio headphones first! ;)

However, ...I'm going in to the studio soon to do some professional recordings with that bass for one 80s famous domestic singer/front-man/guitarist/author, ...I'm looking forward to hear the results what real professional producers could suck up from my reflex in passive mode! :)
