....is the DDII Bongo 5H on the For-Sale thread still available? That is one rare and amazing beast. Okay, yes, it's not at killer price status but still....

sometimes stuff just stays up for a while. I picked up my SR5 HS for 1125 shipped, and it's a BEAUTIFUL guitar in excellent condition. I couldn't believe it myself, and kept waiting to find something horribly wrong with it., but everything works.

Its a reflection of the economy, IMO. Used gear prices are down, and the ones that arent just dont seem to move fast.

I think it's also a reflection of the fact that the Bongo single H is probably one of the most under-appreciated basses in the history of man - even on this forum there is a stunning lack of people who have had the pleasure of playing through and owning one.

The same guy also had a DDII Stingray HH for sale and that one sold.

I guess it's natural to have the notion that "more is more". That is, more pickups and more options is better. And, lets face it, the Bongo H is not about that. It doesn't even have a three way switch for parallel, single coil and series mode.

I guess it's just too hard of a sell. For some reason people will buy a SR4 H no problem but seem to overlook the Bongo H - despite BP, and others who have access to a variety of EBMM basses, saying the Bongo H is their favorite bass.

Admittedly, its not for everyone I suppose but, more than other basses, I guess you have to have one to "get it".

maybe the color? or maybe that the bongo single H is kind of an unknown? The DD and DDII basses are little known outside of the EBMM fan world. I didn't know what one was until I googled it, and I've been a MM fan for years.

that said it is NICE looking. That green/gold flip flop is incredible. I'm just not overly fond of the bongo shape.

Yup, I'd jump on that for the right price to hold me off until I get the Reflex H, same with a Stingray H or HH but I don't wanna buy high & sell low later
