You kids need to understand that the guitar community is not like high school...most all of us root for each other....Speaking of Suhr...I think they have an great team and fantastic products. I think they may like what we do also...it's all good

John Suhr should be getting his smoker from me any day now.....

That's good to know. Actually I would have loved to have kept my Suhr but the household's 'Chief Finance Officer' operates a fairly strict rotation policy which is just as well or I'd end up with far too many guitars!

I was talking with an acquaintance of Paul Reed Smith the other week who told me that Paul speaks very highly of EBMM guitars, which again is nice to hear.

Not quite sure who and where that was directed at BP. I think Suhr makes great stuff out there, and totally think that it's cool you got a new Badger from John. I'd like to see you play through it and hear it in action. Just razzing you about the video..

it wasnt directed at you just the general tone everytime a similar builder comes up....and I dont bring it up with venom really to explain that we actually respect and like each others stuff. Paul Smith is a great person and builder and so is John Suhr and his team. Really fantastic.

If you go to their website, there are some high quality demos of their products. It is a fairly new site, so I dont think they have ALL of their stuff on there, but they do have some Badger demos and the pedal demos. Also, Pete Thorn does some awesome demos of their gear as well as many other manufacturers. He always does a great job...monster player too!

So here is an interesting question for BP. Was there anything you saw at Suhr that you would like to incorporate into your guitars and vice versa? I know you guys have 2 completely different business models, but it's interesting to know if there was something you saw at Suhr that possibly inspired you to go back go your team and say "why can't we" or "what if we". I ask because you mentioned that John was very impressed at the way you deliver such a quality product at such a great price.

Here is my take for anyone interested in knowing. I can appreciate the time and effort it takes is making a quality instrument. I've had Anderson, Melancon and most recently Suhr. Since I have 3 little ones now (actual children) my guitar buying days have come to a fast halt. My Suhr is a Esquire that is absolutely stellar in every respect except the neck shape. Just not the right one for me. I've held on to the guitar for awhile now because acquiring another isn't going to happen anytime soon. I told my wife that if I ever come across a rosewood Albert Lee I would probably sell the Suhr. Well long story short I found a rosewood MM90 locally and now my Suhr will most likely be going to Ebay to fund the purchase of the AL. Bottom line is I have endless respect for builders who put their heart and soul into their product. For me the AL is the one guitar that I connect with on a whole different level. Sounds a little corny I know but it just "fits" for my playing style. What a great time to be a player......so many choices that were never possible years ago!

It's really a cool thing with the small builders. I saw it last year at NAMM - I was brought down as an artist for a small boutique pedal builder VFE and our booth was next to Cusack Effects. By the time I got their on that first day I was told to go check out Jon's board and new amp. It was like a small family cheering on one another and showing support for one another it was really cool. To this day I still stay in contact with the guys at Cusack.
I can understand the mutual respect across the board.

Suhr makes great guitars, but so does Musicman. Axis guitars are incredibly good!

I've saved up for a Suhr numerous times. Each time that I was ready to buy, EBMM diverted me. Not knocking Suhr as I love all of his stuff but I guess EBMM guitars are a better fit for me. Of course a Badger is on my radar...

I still dream of an SL68 from John, but I get distracted very easily. You guys posting all your PDN's are of little to no help.
