Many of you already know my story. Purchased my first guitar about 3 years ago now and fortunately enough for me it was a John Petrucci model, more specifically, a JPX. I had no knowledge of guitars at the time and purchased it just because it was the latest and greatest that EBMM had to offer. Obviously, was not disappointed. That being said I had nothing to compare it to. I really had no appreciation for what I possessed.

I really started to get into Steve Morse and then purchased myself a Y2D. Now, finally, I actually had an opportunity to compare and contrast my different guitars and let me tell you, both guitars had their own personalities and in my honest opinion one was not better than the other. Unfortunately, I had a situation come up where I had to make a decision to sell one or the other. I decided to keep the JP.

About 6 months ago I got into another guitarist who used a competitors guitar and although it wasn't a signature guitar it was considered, at the time, to be his "signature" guitar. Since I had the budget for this brand I went ahead and got it. At first I was impressed! I'm not going to lie. To tell you the truth, the thing I liked most about this guitar was that I could be rough with it and not be concerned. This guitar was by no means an investment. I used it as my everyday guitar. Didn't have to worry about cleaning it after use or even putting it in its case, etc. But, as time went on I started to become extremely annoyed with it. The damn thing hardly stays in tune, intonation is horrid, string buzzing, etc.

I started playing with my JPX again today and I can't believe the difference. I took it for granted. Big time! I just wanted to take a few minuets and give credit where credit is due. Big Papa, John and all of the EBMM staff I want to thank you for your insane attention to detail and the level of quality each of your guitars possess. We're talking quality you can feel with your hands, hear in your head and feel in your heart! Your products enrich people's lives. Keep doing what you do!

Yes! I played my Koa JP at an acoustic jam last night with a new bass player and some folks who had not seen my guitar before. All were amazed at the piezo tone. I love my JPs and nothing will replace them.

I know how you feel, Devin.

I was playing a big heavy guitar as needed for the Kiss tribute-band authenticity factor. But, now I'm in a cover band, so I can play what I want to play. I've been using my two Axii and I've never been happier. The Axii necks are so comfortable and the upper-fret access is far superior to the Budokan.

Feels good to be home...but now I have bad GAS for an Albert Lee!
