Hi All,

I got me Reflex with GC and i like it, but I also like my Sterling (2004, 4 strings, H), so i decided to convert the Sterling to fretless. I like the option of getting just the neck and replace the original one.

What is the good place (preferably online) to shop for the neck? Also, If anybody had any experience with it, please share.

Forum member named GOLEM had a neck for exchange or whatever. But I can't remember fretted or fretless and from which bass it is - stingray or sterling. Can't find that thread >_<

Have a look at Status Graphite's Website to, I know Rob Green built a bunch of necks for EBMM as well (not sure if he has one with Sterling Spec's).

Golem keeps/acquires the FL necks and "disowns" the toothy necks
[currently offering fretted necks for both Ray and Sterling 4-string],
so I'm looking at the same sort of swap [same direction of change].

Necks are verrry hard to come by. I've bought whole basses just to
do neck swaps. I've also got two Moses Graphite FL necks in play,
which is an option you might wanna consider. EBMM may have now
reissued the Sabre, but Golem has been recreating the Cutlass :)

the web site says 'No Sterling or Bongo necks' :( but thanks for the pointer!

I'd just buy this

Ernie ball Sterling fretless bass

& sell yours

Nice! But there are some other factors I didn't provided initially:

1. Boston is very far from Vancouver (Canada)
2. I changed already the stock preamp on my Sterling to Bartolini and I like how it sounds now, more jazzy kind of tone. I don't want to loose it.
3. I like black basses

Contacted Moses Graphite customer support already, hopefully I will own Sterling with graphite neck as well pretty soon.

Waitin on you down here in MM hell :)

Major Sins:
1. '91 SR4 FL with complete SD Basslines make-over [PU and EQ-pre].
2. Sterling 4HS FL with Moses Graphite neck.
3. SR 4HH FL with Moses Graphite neck.

Lesser Sins:
Don't ask, don't tell ;-)

I'll just set by the fire and warm my toes a while til you get here ....
