I put on a set of the new Cobalt strings last night - WOW!!!! The clarity, response and overall sound is AMAZING! The biggest $10 upgrade to a guitar EVER!

I own a JP60 Black SBMM.

Had it as a gift from my wife last year. Love it so much.

The only problem I have is finding a flight case that will protect it best and obviously it will fit in there.

Any suggestions please! Thanks a lot!

Hey all!

Managed to spend some time with a JP100 in a music store today. I was VERY impressed. Didn't think I would be that impressed. On par with any prestige I've played. Better in fact. The feel is just more solid and tight. I think it's mostly in the neck. This is coming from an "Ibanez guy" for the last 10 years.

I have been dead set on getting one since then. Then I thought "maybe I can get a used JP6 for just a little more than a new JP100." But I'm not sure how often JP6s come up under the $1000 threshold... I've heard of people snagging them for outrageous prices, but I somehow think it's rather uncommon. Kinda like Parker Flys. Plus I live in Australia, and internatioinal sellers often don't want the perceived hassle of shipping down here. Furthermore I cannot get my hands on a USA EBMM down here to judge whether or not it's worth that much more than the JP100...

So, I think at this stage the JP100 is going to be the next edition to my guitar family. I'm looking forward to being able to grab one :D

Hey Pat would just like to send you congrats on the killer review in the new GW of the new Sterling Silo 30! I honestly felt the reviewer was truly totally blown away and not doing the fluff review as there was not a single negative.

Since I didn't see any TBO AX40s, I'll post mine. Fantastic guitar out of the box, but I'm not one to leave gear stock. Gotoh-style bridge I got from eBay, chrome switch tip, and bridge humbucker from a Peavey Wolfgang. Love it!

Nice job getting the one-off! That's a keeper. I predict 2013 will bring some very exciting stuff to the SBMM lineup, on a grand scale.

Brian Martin has done a fantastic job on the "expansion". Kudos Brian.

Brian,

Are you guys also responsible for the new SUB series that has been re-released? If so, I just picked one up for my son today who is 9 and wants to start learning guitar. We got him a Sterling by Music Man Sub Silo 3 in white. Guitar Center is shipping it to me right now because they only had 1 black model in the store but my kid had said he liked the white ones best.

I also concur this is a great post for fellow Sterling by Music Man owners. Since the Sub series just came out, are they allowed to be included as well?

We bought one of the last stealth black JP50s for our son last August and kept it buried in our closet until Christmas. Man, that was tough!! He auditioned for jazz band at school and made it (only electric guitarist in the band and he's in 6th grade--so proud of him!!), so I've decided to sell my acoustic setup and buy a JP60 or JP100 to help him with his practices. He would also have a back-up guitar should something happen to his.

I try to do my best JP impression w/ "Damage Control" on his JP50. What a great guitar and great value.

Keep them coming!!
