Don't know anything about the 6 string sets, I'm afraid!
Group II is what you want, Tom. I've slowly but surely been going all Group II (slowly because it takes a while to wear out flats, as you know). I still have the Acme Flats on a few things but when it's time to change them, and some are close, I will be totally EB Group IIs. They do have a bit more tension than what you use, but then EVERYTHING DOES.
I seriously like them a lot.
The Group IIIs are fun if you REALLY want to go all Jamerson but too stiff for me. (Chuck R said, 'Whoa, now those are a man's strings.")
Hang on, Group III have more tension than Group II? Isn't it the other way round?
Yep. Jack's wrong.
Group I has the highest tension. Group IV has the lowest.
Anyone have a guesstimate on how long to break in a set of EB flats. Mine should be in Wednesday for my SR4, and I'm hoping to get them broke in when we record our live cd January 12.
