It seems that all Music mans have a serial number like "G08479" or something along those lines...

I've got a Cherry Burst Silhouette w/Floyd Rose and I cant seem to find the serial number. All I found was
"93840" on the five screw plate.

Im beginning to question its authenticity...or maybe 93840 is the actual serial number?

I thought serial numbers would be somewhere a little less replaceable like the headstock or something

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

That is the serial number. Some of the older ones did not start with letters.

+1 ^^^^

Pre-1997 were 5-numbers ##### format. My newest guitar with a ##### format was born Apr/1996.

In 1997 guitars had A##### format. I have guitars that were born in Apr/1997 and Nov/1997 that have the A##### format.

As of 1998, most guitars went to the G##### format. My oldest G##### format guitar was born in Apr/1998. However, there were still some A##### format neck plates floating around as I have two guitars dated Jul/1998 that have A##### format.

Everything from 1999 on in my collection is definitely the G##### format.

I think your Silhouette is legit!
