This young lady doesn't act like her SR5 is very heavy. :)

True, but that young lady can probably kick the living s*** out of me. For that fact, most women would given the chance.

Connellsville, Butler, and Grove City. My son goes to Slippery Rock. We were up in April and stayed downtown. Took my wife to the Strip District (DeLuca's, Primanti Bros.) and the Warhol Museum. She hasn't been the same since.

I've been to all those towns. My brother married a gal from Alverton. I have a some good friends in Butler, and I love Rachel's Roadhouse in Grove City. (My family has a camp near Franklin, so I go through Slippery Rock, Harrisville, Barkeyville a lot.. for the last 30 years or so!)

I work downtown, so the Strip District is an easy walk, although there's another Primanti's location closer to me. I'm a North Hills native and lifelong dweller.

Weight???

Hi to all
I just bought an used Stingray 5 from a web customer; it's a honeyburst with rosewood board , mint condition , very beautifull.
Out of the box I immediatly noticed it weight because it' s very light. No other Stingray5 that I 've tried and used was so light. It's weight 4,2 kg ( 9,26 lbs). The bass sound great, with a remarkable B string.
My questions are : is the weight of my Stingray so unusual ???
Can the light weight affect the B string sound in some way ???

Ps: hope you understand;sorry for my non perfect english ...

During the last 20 years stingrays were made from ash, alder or even poplar (not sure for this one). I have no idea what wood should be heavier but I think it could affect the overall bass weight.

My SR5 is freakin' heavy but still has remarkable B string :)

I had one that weighed close to 9 lbs, nice and light and still sounded great.

While not average I don't think the weight on yours is unusual, I'd say 8lbs would be unusual and I've never played an MM that didn't have a stellar B string regardless of weight. Congrats on your SR5, and you need to get some pics up, house rules.
Sounds like you got yourself a great bass.

I have an SR5 that is 9 lbs. From what I have seen, the ones closer to 9 lbs are more rare than the ones around 10 lbs and up. My other two are right at 10 lbs, which is on the heavy side for my small and fragile frame. There should be no problems with B-string performance on lighter ones.

A light weight SR5 like that, with a color like that? Okay, you have my envy, regardless of the pickup. ;)
