Question for my fellow European Knuckleheads:

I have an eye on a 1997 Axis Sport HSS that is for sale here in the Netherlands. As it is a secondhand guitar I would like to compare it price wise to some other Axis Sports that are for sale in the EU. But sofar I can only find a few. Do any of you know of other Axis Sports for sale over here? Don't want to make it a price discussion, but some links could be helpfull!

Also, is the humbucker on this one the well praised Axis humbucker (that is also in the reflex and Al HH)?

Thanks!

Hello

The Axis Sport are pretty rare here in France. Last year, there was a HSS purple on sale. If I remember correctly, the price was 1300 €. I keep my eyes open ...

Good luck

In 2006 i bought a used black Axis Sport HH for 795 EUR. I used it for about 2 years, then sold it on ebay for just around 600 EUR. Which I wasn't happy with... OK, I installed a pearloid white pick guard on it, so it wasn't original anymore.

The humbucker should be THE one :)
I always found the Axis Sport to be a tiny bit more twangy, cause of the different saddles and the different wood. Still don't understand, why it was discontinued, great guitar.

Thanks guys for the info. Going to check one out tomorrow. According to the store it should be in good shape except for some stresscracks at the neck joint. Hoping that those won't be to severe..

I think, no I know, you are right..

Other than that it is a very nice looking guitar, has quite a vintage vibe to it.

I got my Axis Sport from Dirk Witte in Amsterdam :) My first of now three EBMMs! Those Sports are highly underrated due to their more spartan looks but are every bit as awesome as Super Sports.

Hi guys & girls.
Short note from me, while this is about AS availability in Europe.
Huigens Hengelo (NL) has got one (HH config.) in store. Brue/green color, it's not on their site.
It's been there for a loooong time and still was there last week.
The AS is a great one indeed. Still got my orange SSS, bought new 15 years ago and sold my HH piezo sunburst one (pics-o-my-guitar #2624).
Regards, Robert.
