I absolutely love my y2d and since I changed the pickups love it even more , very comfortable great tone neck is the perfect shape for me and its a beautiful looking g guitar as well .
And since I have push pull pots and spli the coils it makes it extremely versatile.
I haven't touch any other guitar in a long time.

Just curious, why did you change the pickups? I haven't heard the SM pickups, but their specs read surprisingly hot to me, considering Steve's music. I mean, some of his stuff is fairly heavy sometimes, but not THAT heavy.

i was thinking about changing the bridge PU to a tonezone or something with more low-end.
sometimes i´m missing this "full and rich" kind of low-end from my Y2Ds, but in the end they are tighter as my JPs or a Wolfgang (both have really hot PUPs as well, but with more low-end).
so i ended up going ahead with the originals. if you have ever played an EMG 81, you´ll know what i´m talking about.

To me they were harsh and sterile and I love the way the 36 th anniversary pickup by dimarzio sounds and the super distortion sounds killer also. It's just my preference I don't play like Steve or have the same equipment.
The pickups now seem much warmer,

Did you do the 36th Ann in the neck and the SD in the bridge? I had thought about getting a 36th Ann for my SS, I like the Dimarzio pup in it now (Virtual PAF I guess?) but just wish it had just a little bit more heat. I also have a set of Breeds lying around that I had put in an Ibanez but the bridge was way too shrill to me (but the Ibanez is a basswood/maple cap model, rare for them), so I may put them in the SS, or the Y2D if I get it and want to do a pup swap.

I love the Reflex/25th I have. It is simply amazing and as versatile as can be...the neck is very comfortable and plays like a dream.

It is very similar to the Silho special I have, which is also an amazing axe.

But the neck of the Y2D, for me, is the best of em all! That guitar is killer, and looks so sexy its ridiculous!

Well, I have a chance to (possibly) get a 25th Ann, really beautiful, great condition, or a Y2D for around $1400 which I think is the best deal I've seen on one yet. It's a tough call between the two. But then again, I can always get a Y2D later (although I may have to pay more than the $1400) and grab the 25th Ann while I can, because they're fairly hard to come across nowadays, aren't they? Help!!! :D

I'd grab the 25th, since they won't be celebrating that anniversary again. You can always pick up a y2d.

I think Bryan (Tollie) gave you the right advice. As stated the Y2D is not going anywhere and 25th's are becoming harder to come by as they were a limited run. Also between the two the 25th would be my choice, as it is the most comfortable Ball to play IMHO.
