Good Morning, today is the day that we gonna see Deep Purples new record "Now What?!" here in Germany and a few other countries.
I didn´t have the opportunity to listen to the whole record but thought it would be nice if we could comment it here.

On Wednesday we had 2 live TV appearances of DP: "All The Time In The World" on Morgenmagazin (Breakfast TV) and "Hell To Pay" on TV Today (Late Night Show).

Smallest stage they've been in in a long time!

Too bad Deep Purple does not tour the USA anymore. Roger Glover said in a recent interview that in the USA the fans, and particularly radio, are only interested in the old songs. The recent albums from the Steve Morse era have all been good.

Already got my copy of new CD and it is superb. For me modern sounding, fresh and different than previous. But still Deep Purple. :)

When did they stop touring? I seen them in Canada just over a year ago. I would be surprised if they didn't play in the US if they tour Canada. It was great show and the whole band was in very fine form the entire night. Steve even did a guitar clinic earlier in the day.

THX for sharing the vid. Real DP sound in the tradition of the 80s albums for my ears and great playing by Steve Morse.

Well the thing is - I didn't like the last gig they did here (in Boston). Not quite sure which year, the recent one with orchestra.

I also decided not to order this new album until I can find out whether the production quality went back up. I was really disappointed in the quality going down and down and down since about 1999 and needed to feel I put a stop to it. Of course Amazon's sample are useless for telling so I'm not sure how I am gonna find out. I didn't like the songs either guessing from the samples.

The other reason I don't buy is recent releases that are simple rippoffs and that made me post "Deep Purple's record company lost their minds" thread on the interwebs.

I loved this band so much but enough is enough. And at this point I can't rule out that the US fans like the "older" songs better because they are better. I put "older" in "quotes" because the 1996 album, with Morse, and it's songs are very popular here.

Chiming in. Used to be a big Purple fan during Blackmore, but an even (orders of magnitude) bigger fan of Steve's. That said...I like old purple better...but i also like Morse's older stuff better than his newer stuff (say last 15 years).

I think a lot of that is when we're exposed to these bands first, and i also can't think of a single example where songwriting improves greatly long after a career is in gear. Not a few years in, but many years in. Maybe Luke actually.
Interesting topic

Here again another live version of "All The Time In The World".
The only new song they played at their recent gig in Ischgl
(btw. looks like a rented backline, not their usual stuff)
