Hi Guys

I am due to take delivery of my JP6 next week and it got me thinking, how many variations of the JP are there?

I tried to look but it got a bit confusing, any ideas?

Cheers

At the moment, these are all that I know of

JP6 Standard Unloaded (Finish Options Vary)
JP6 Loaded (Finish Options Vary)
Custom JP6 (Shields/Piezo/Matching Headstock)
JP7 Standard Unloaded (Finish Options Vary)
JP7 Loaded (Finish Options Vary)
Custom JP7 (Shields/Piezo/Matching Headstock)
JP6 BFR (Quilt/Flamed)
JP7 BFR (Quilt/Flamed)
JP6 BFR Koa (Gold/Silver Hardware)
JP7 BFR Koa (Gold/Silver Hardware)
JPX 6/7 Barolo Finish
JPX 6/7 Roasted Neck/Black Sugar Finish
JPXI 6/7 Onyx "Black Magic" ;)
JP12 6/7 Cherry Sugar Finish
JP12 6/7 Bali Blue Burst Finish
JP13 6/7 Platinum Silver Finish
Sparkle Green PDN 2013 Finish for all of these.

Of course that's just what's available as of today that I know of, quite a few options. I think it's amazing that there's so many iterations of the series with different neck profiles, tonewoods, radiuses, and fret sizes. There's something for everyone with the series, and it caters to so many different tastes which is great for me when I play a new JP I've never gotten my hands on. I'm really keen on trying the JP13, going into the 17" Radius that I'm all too familiar with from all of my Ibanez Guitars.

I might have missed a few models, but that's everything that I'm aware of as of today. There's a website with pretty much every JP Model to ever exist archived also if you want to check that out, I'll look for a link.

Thanks a lot for that very detailed answer. There are a lot more than I thought. It's a very popular model. All the different specs make for interesting reading.

Thanks again.

I did not know that about the 13!! That is great to know and has me intrigued. I am just in a tough area as no ebmm dealers actually stock any. So I am in a situation now where I want to buy but can't until I get some where to play and sort through some neck shapes and models. Say the words "ibanez radius" and you got my attention!!
