I play in 2 bands. Since I got my Bongo, my band mates don't like me switching to my Ray. The Bongo has such a big sound. When I switch to the Ray, it sounds weak by comparison (I LOVE my Ray). How do you adjust your settings so its not such a dramatic change? Seriously, this is nothing against the Ray, I love it.

2 gigging bands, 1 neighborhood band, and a bunch of side projects. No problem shifting between instruments though. Looking at your gear....are you sure it's not the difference between a 4 and 5 string? That low B can make a big difference.
While I don't play a Bongo, I do have a 5 string SUB. I know I know.....there's no comparison. However, that 5th string can be pretty powerful. Just wondering....

This isn't a bass problem, it's a settings/switching problem for which there are solutions already...I use the Tech 21 VT Programmable, one setting for BONGO...one setting for RAY...click...click...no problem..everyone happy.
Yes the tone is different between the basses, that's the point...but the level difference is not..
Another solution is the Radial Tonebone...No WAY you should be just unplugging and plugging back and forth during a set..the boxes to fix this are out there!
Both basses you mention have there strengths, you NEED both...just get a way to manage them on stage, for quick change overs..it's worth the cash

I use a wireless unit, though. Not sure how this would work with a single input source.

Not a bad idea. And yes, I need both basses, I love the tonal differences. But the output is so much bigger on the Bongo.

You can set volumes and eq...for both...and never touch the knobs on your bass...unless you have to...or want too...I know what your saying brother...I'm living the dream with the Bongo/Ray Life
I use a 12 String Bass and A Stingray LIVE...TWO completely different Dogs...but not sound issues with the FOH guy..cuz of that box!

One of my old bands was like that too. Once I brought the Bongo over to rehearsal, they didn't want me to bring any other bass. The Bongo just has a lot of authority and seems to cut through the mix.

Well, you've got a stingray with a AlNiCo pickup in Parallel and a 9 V active module vs the bongo with neodymium magnets in series with an 18 V active module. In terms of potential output and tonal profile, the bongo "wins" in this case. The Stingray is a much more smooth and growly type of sound, though it can be EQ'd to give some punch. If you want them to match up better, maybe back off the volume and EQ with the bongo, or get a volume pedal.

I have been! It's not just the volume.
This weekend I set my Bongo knobs all flat, and boosted the bass on the Ray a little bit. That seems to have helped some.
