FWIW, I have gone ahead and taken to facebook with this story, and expressed both my disgust, and an assertion that both companies should be avoided until such time that they see the error if their ways. Now, you can discount this as inconsequential because you don't know me or who I am. But, I assure you that if you had access to my facebook friends list, you would be depositing purple twinkies in your trousers right now.

At this point, nothing short of a very contrite apology and good will gesture to the OP will assuage my ire.

Disgusting behavior was perpetrated here.

Make it right.

I would say that is a little over the top, but there are some reasonable points made about what was actually said and the response given. I am sure this one wont stay open much longer. Sweat, I just flew over your city.

A little over the top, extremely over the top but again good popcorn and beer thread:)

Axis Sport, good thing you just flew over and did not stop, the weather is brutal here and has been for close to two weeks!

My vacation to the mountains will not get here fast enough.

Whilst I have some sympathy with the OP's frustration, it's hardly the end of the world. My lawnmower went in for a service a few weeks ago and I was fully expecting it to be completed within a day or so but when I phoned them yesterday I was told it wasn't even started and it would be ready next week. Sure I was frustrated as the grass is getting longer but I'm not gonna cry about it.

And wouldn't it be refreshing to read about some good service for a change rather than all the moaning on internet forums about big retailers? They're only human, nobody died.

As for the OP's friends who feel the need to register on a forum simply to vent against a manufacturer is just about as lame as it gets. You think you are supporting your friend? Wrong, you actually end up looking totally ridiculous, but worse than that you have probably embarrassed your friend who, by his own admission, has been a long time EBMM player and forum member.

You've turned a tiny molehill into an enormous mountain, well done.

You have friends?

No one is taking personal shots at you. No one is trying to embarrass anyone. The only people who need to feel embarrassed are the folks who screwed the pooch in the first place, and the reps from 2 large corporations that missed a golden opportunity to come across as real world nice guys rather than smug elitists with poor reading skills.

Myz didn't ask anyone to come here and defend him. but the fact that there are attitudes like yours seems to make the case that the consumer always needs an advocate. Your blind loyalty or lack of empathy is the sort of thing that corporations rely on.

This thread was never about EBMM. It was about shoddy service, and having read the details over the past 5 weeks that were not included in the OP, I have a perspective on it that is clearly not shared by some folks here. So be it. the bottom line is that a pro musician got treated horribly, multiple times now.

If I can take a few minutes out of my day to register on a forum for a company whose products I have purchased and enjoyed for many years to let them know that they aren't winning me over with their actions, and possible come to the defense of an innocent party, I am very happy to do so.

What have you done today to try and make things better for a fellow musician?

Hi everyone,

I'm a professional musician, writer, producer, engineer and all around generally cool dude for the most part
Uh-huh. Except for the part where you start saying things like this ...

I am disgusted that it was turned into a PR coup for EBMM and Sam Ash ... I don't give a rats a** about Sterling Ball and his group of friends ... These guys here are just 4$$holes.
mystixboi1 is obviously frustrated at Sam Ash, and it sounds like the situation is rectified. So your point coming in here, guns blazing, and trashing the guy who makes the guitars and runs the forum is what exactly (other than looking like a jackass)?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

I'd love to think we could have a civilized discussion here when there's a problem with something. But every time there's a thread like this, some Internet tough-guys show up and want to talk ****.

OGG and Coralkong are gone- we just don't allow that kind of disrespect here, and this is done.

Gonna avail of my moderator's discretion to add a recap for the Facebook visitors, lest they be biased by the 'keyboard warriors' who brought them here...

A forum member had a problem and they posted about it. There is an apology from Sam Ash, EBMM customer service were on the ball (remember, it's a used guitar so not a warranty issue, but they still got involved and responded here), the faulty part is replaced. It all came out right in the end.

I'm just kicking myself that I didn't close the thread after OP's last post (#16). The problem was fixed, the involved parties had their say, there wasn't anything of any value to be added by anyone else. And indeed, nothing of any value was added by anybody else.

Well....Actually keep it going....

a used guitar got sold...it was broken....the dealer who isnt a dealer of ours really dropped the ball....it got ran up the flagpole here and AJ instantly got it fixed at no charge for anything. Remember it wasnt under warranty but we want to take care of the customer. Always. No charge.

When you make the decision to post on a corporate forum that is available to the general public you open yourself up for shots. Thats why BOb Taylor doesnt post....Paul Smith....they all think Im crazy for posting.

But having said that I reacted to this comment, "I know it's not the Cherry Hill Sam Ash's fault for me receiving a faulty guitar," In my haste my response was that it was used, "we dont know what the previous owner did and we didnt make the switch" I guess its semantics between faulty and broken. No biggie. I thanked phil for at least explaining the situation and moved on....

But really...the venom and personal shots and promise to slander me and now a big time grammy guy has time to take this on as a cause? Sort of a severe reaction. "golf buddies?' I have never played golf with Sammy Ash....never.

Grammy guy I have a studio in Hollywood...You are welcome to come discuss this with me just let me know. Im here because I care about the customer.

Now lets look at how the consumer approaches his keyboard power..... Why would an issue with a chain that doesnt even sell our guitars s be posted here in the first place? Why use my bandwidth? Now its very clear that you weren't throwing us under the bus...you were using our forum to throw someone else under the bus. It was a broken guitar and as soon as we heard about it we fixed it.

If someone has been let down they strike with threats first then venom....of the thousands of Sam Ash employees one let this guy down....the entire chain gets slammed on a forum I pay for....then instead of being able to have a conversation I get attacked by third party people and get accused of everything for cronyism to not caring about the customer....is that really fair?

While you are slamming me and my company please understand that we employ 450 Californians....we are a living wage company...we feed production workers a hot meal every day....we provide insurance way above obama care and even have a bilingual therapist to help families in trouble....we pay the college tuition for children of employees children who maintain a 3.5 gpa.... we have zumba bootcamp and several other wellness perks....oh yeah we support 32 charities including Musiccares....all this and nearly 18,000 posts communicating with consumers.

Now here is the deal....I am really sorry that my clarification on the condition of the guitar was misunderstood....really I am...I value the original poster and should have taken more time....Thats the deal..I post less because I dont have the time and its not because of golf its trying to keep the ball rolling.

Really what did Ernie Ball/Music Man or me do to deserve this level of hate and venom? We fixed the guitar. /I misunderstood the original poster and wanted to make sure that the people knew that it not a faulty guitar but a broken one.

Really I am sincere in my apology and will work to make sure that I communicate exactly what I mean....but I ask you who are reading this...didn't this get a little extreme?

BTW I think that the op and I are fine.....correct me if Im wrong....
