Not to high jack this again:D:p but I will I am left handed I mean very left handed but when I decided to try and play guitar several years ago right handed just felt natural, though it explains my issue with my picking hand very weak right hand skills!! Hope you find a a good lefty:)

Well Steve Morse is left handed ... and his picking technique is amazing.
My daughter is also left handed. When she started to learn classical guitar, I wanted her to play like a right handed person. Now she has a diabolic right hand. But of course she starts playing when she was 4 years old ... that helps !

LOL my friend, I am no Steve Morse, and yes starting early helps and having time to practice is so important and I do not have much of that lately:)

Did you try contacting the EBMM distributor Strings & Things. They may be able to tell you which stores closest to you have had leftys recently delivered. Give them a call...

Welcome To Strings and Things Ltd
Thanks for your insight DrKey. I've contacted a smashing fellow, Andy Cocklin, at Strings and Things. He is arranging a guitar of my preference to be shipped from SLO over to my local dealer. If, after trying it, I don't want to buy it (unlikely), it will be kept as a stock model in the UK.

I spent five years working for a national retailer instrument and have never experienced customer service like this from any other distributors. I'm over the moon!

Now I just have to sell the cannon fodder I've been playing in order to finance it (and the next ones if this forum is anything to go by!)

I tried to get sellers to tick the gift or sample option on the customs declaration, but have always been stung.

The gift option is only good up to 40€ value, or something like that. It really doesn't apply to guitars. And if they inspect and decide the declared value is deliberately much less than the real value, you could be fined. (And if the instrument is damaged you can only claim back the amount you declared too). The rule of thumb is simple - you'll pay VAT and import duty on the sum of the declared value of the instrument + shipping charges. (Yes, you pay import duty and VAT on the shipping charges too!) So, allow 25% extra to be paid on delivery.

So, what's the guitar of your preference?
Thanks for your support Dizzy!?! Just wait until I'm on stage, duelling with Petrucci, I'll show him what I can do with my left hand. . . Place it palm down next to my right on the floor as I lay prostrate squealing "Not worthy!"

My preference is a Luke in vintage sunburst. I love the looks of the Axis Super Sport (big EVH fan) but I don't like the black back, I'd rather have it natural although basswood has so little grain it would look odd. I see that you own two Lukes, what do you think about my preference?
