Hello EB/MM forum, I'm Jordan! It's a pleasure to be here. I've heard good things about this forum from some of my other haunts (mostly the Duncan forum) and I thought that since I finally scored a Music Man guitar, what better place to show it off and talk about it than here?

I've been in love with EBMM instruments ever since I played a 25th anniversary at my local GC back when they came out. That guitar had a profound effect on me - I couldn't believe a guitar could sound that good, play that nicely, look that incredible, and be just all around amazing. Ever since then, I've wanted a Music Man axe.

I've had no plans to buy a new guitar. In fact, I've been rather broke. I'm a full time student finishing up my Bachelor's degree and I don't have time to work full time. But being broke doesn't stop me from browsing Craigslist. I've never had a "shredstick" guitar, so I was looking to see what cheap Ibanez/Kramer/Hamer/etc might be up there. As luck would have it, I came across something incredible:

A basically brand new Y2D with case for a measly $500. Fortunately, I had just sold a few pedals, so I had that money plus some borrowed band funds. I swooped that guitar ASAP and I've been reveling in the glory for the last week. I can hardly believe how clean it is - there's a very small nick in the clear coat near the bridge and a very small crack on the side, but other than that it's mint.

The guitar plays like a dream. Seriously, I was playing it a few days ago and I was so in touch with the instrument that for a few minutes I didn't even feel the strings. I've never had a guitar that just begs to be played like this one. The feel is unreal, as is the tone. The pickups are voiced SO GOOD. I love all of the different combinations you can get - there's even a stealth 6th combination with all of the pickups on. This is the only guitar where I've absolutely no desire to mess with it. I put Schaller Strap locks on it, but that's it.

Just thought I'd share my new baby with you kind folk. Cheers!

$500 is about € 370.... :eek::eek::eek:

That is almost for free! Congrats on an awesome score! Y2D's are such good rock guitars.

Welcome to the forum - stick around and revel in the atmosphere - and color me jealous for the deal you got! :)

Ok - are you already a. Steve Morse (the artist) fan, or are you just about to become one? ;)

Haha it figures that someone else on this forum would have seen it. I was surprised that the guy didn't sell it in the four days it took to get the money.

Thanks guys! This is definitely the best guitar I've ever played. It may even be a cut above the other EBMM guitars I've played - I'm going to Guitar Center in a few just to play some others and compare. I can't believe how good it feels and sounds.

Hey Agileguy, great to see you here :)

I recently joined after buying my Petrucci and Morse last month.

Thanks to your SD forum story on this Y2K, I too bought a bargain Luke using Craigslist. It should arrive next week. I had never seen Craigslist prior.

I am officially addicted to EBMM :) I now want a purple EVH or AXIS.

I plan on it!

I've never really listened to Steve, but what I've heard of his I really really like.

Not to be rude, but...
$500???
Did you make sure it's not stolen...??

The seller seemed far more likely to be misinformed than a thief. He said that he saw them selling online for $1300... (used, but I guess he didn't realize that. Sucks for the friend he was selling it for, rocks for me.)

Thanks! Yeah I've never played a guitar that's better than this one. I went to Guitar Center today with my brother to have some fun. He's a bass player so I convinced him to play some MM basses. They had a Big Al 4 with the singles that we both absolutely loved. Anyway, I tried a few MM guitars and was impressed by how incredible they are. I can't believe how good EBMM quality control is. I picked up a hardtail Y2D in black for just a few seconds - played very nice but I prefer mine. The Floyd just gives it a wonderful feel, and oddly enough I actually prefered the acoustic tone of mine.

Good to see you too Justin! I love your Petrucci and the Morse, you lucky bastard. And now you've got a Luke coming - argh! That's awesome. You said it's a LIII, right? I just played one of those today and it's a fantastic guitar. The pickups are incredible sounding, and the onboard boost is super awesome. The solid rosewood neck also impressed me - I can hardly believe how good they get it to feel. I can't wait to hear what you think of it.

Nice buy but I can't help thinking someone somewhere has lost a heck of a lot of money through that guitar.

A fool and his money shall soon be parted... :)
