Help! JPX mahogany neck vs. roasted maple neck

Hello. I'd like to buy Music Man JP guitar and found one interesting offer: JPX with roasted maple neck. Would be a big tonal difference with usual JPX and will it have same signature singing lead voice? Or should I buy JPXi/JP12 instead?
