I brought back SEXY (the BFR Badge)

Yes, I'm *crazy* about the BFR Badge - and posted a poll on bringing it back at http://forums.ernieball.com/music-man-guitars/57216-bring-back-ball-family-reserve-badge.html - but, alas, doesn't seem to be returning...

That left me two options - hold my breath until I'm blue, or have it done custom.

I tried that first option - a couple times, actually - still no BFR badge...

So, I had it done custom - and here it is!

Used the existing 12th fret "shields" to frame the badge, so it's actually scaled to 80% of an original - but the human eye don't know that when it sees this - and I'm thrilled with the way it turned out. The guy that did it didn't even have to remove frets!

Here's another shot - will have it on the guitar tonight (just arrived back to me this afternoon)

Not sure if it would be promoting a particular vendor to name who did it, so won't name them here - but will say it cost only $200 and I thought that was a bargain for the way it turned out. The mother-of-pearl is even a fantastic match to the framing shields.

Am sure there will be some that say they don't like it - but I think it looks great - and it's my guitar so... Wah! Eat my shorts if you're a hater!

And they look great! The missing badge wouldn't bother me, but this is a great solution if you really want that inlay. Well done!

Just discovered this thread...man, you really seem to love that BFR badge! Glad the mod turned out just great...I certainly wouldn't have had the guts to take that step so it's great to see it came out awesome!

I keep waiting for Big Poppa to post that now he's "seen the light" and The Badge will henceforth make a comeback (transforming the non-badge BFRs into instant collector's item to my perpetual chagrin ),

But, alas, that hasn't happened - so I guess this will remain a one-of-a-kind... At least until my next EBMM purchase!

If anybody else wants to "pimp their ride" - remember it's only a $200 mod - no refretting required - and you've seen it turn out great so it's not a gamble.
