So you're the lucky dog! I looked at that bass for I don't know how long and when I finally decided to give it a try, it was gone. I'm curous on your feelings of it compared to your Big Al. I also have a BA 5 SSS with maple board and have been thinking of a Sterling 5 HH but haven't given into my urge yet.
Great looking bass by the way - congrats!
Sweet!
It wasn't easy let go but I traded an '09 25th Anniversary for the Sterling plus $250 to me, I play the BA more so it got volunteered, sadly I'm in one out for one in mode. But I'm digging the Sterling so it's already like "25th who?"Way nice, what did you trade for it.
ThanksNice snag, that's beautiful.
Thanks, Yeah it was a good trade for both parties, I just checked the build year and see it's an '08!! Total case queen, dead mint. I'm going string it up with some Cobalts tonight after I treat the board.Best bass ever of course... blows away the Big Al in terms of EASE of tonal changes. The Sterling 5HH is extremely versatile on the fly while the Big Al was a bit much for me to change quickly on stage & know what was going out to the house with 100% confidence. The Big Al does have "more" tones I guess but due to the mahogany body its many shades of warm which blend a bit together. Give me an ASH Sterling everyday
Great call here !!
Hey John, thanks, it's not bad at ten lbs.Congrats Rick. I wish I still had my ST5 Trans Orange. Was super light 9 pounds. What's yours weigh?
Thanks, I'm still in shock finding out it's over five years old! It gives new meaning to case queen, but not anymore.Love the grain on that bass
Thanks, +1 next guard will be Tort, nice thing is that this finish is guard friendly, I'm brutal on black guards so it probably won't be longAll it needs is a brown TS guard. Sweet!
Thanks, I had a sick HS5 BFR True Gold with a Rosewood neck once but it didn't work for me, I think it's great that they offer different configurations for us .nice bass! great color and great condition. Only thing I would do differently is I would have looked for one with the HS pickup config. More versatile, IMHO.
