I've had this problem ever since buying the guitar in July this year. The sound is a high-pitched ring that comes through when hitting a chord and abruptly muting the strings... the springs underneath vibrate and the vibration goes through the pickups and subsequently through the amp. It's a bit obnoxious. I currently have a pipe cleaner running through each string, and some clear medical tubing taped over each spring, this has resolved the problem a bit but the ringing is still audible. Surely others have experienced the same issue.

Here is how it looks now:

Any recommended remedies? Thanks guys!

Hello. I have never experienced this problem but I have seen people use 3/16 rubber tubing and cut to length and insert the tubing inside the springs. If you search on you tube for "cure noisy tremolo springs" there is a demo from a guy who did this with great results.
Good luck.

You may try moving the two outer springs straight and see if that makes a difference. I have two Luke 3's (a HH & SSH), use 9.5-44 strings and have 3 springs straight pattern and do not experience the noise.

You could do the Steve Vai trick of pushing in tissue paper between the tremolo strings...

that´s the way i do it on all of my tremolo guitars. just put it between the springs and the wood. make sure it´s thick enough to touch the springs softly. the cheapest and fastest way to stop the springs from ringing.

I use gaff tape or a small piece of foam. Try muting the headstock, too. I've gotten some harmonic overtones from the headstock. I stick a piece of foam under the strings by the nut.

most of the time I like a small amount of spring ringing but if it is really loud putting cotton in the middle of the springs works

Floyd Upgrades noiseless springs. Problem solved easy. Had the same problem and found out about the noiseless springs and problem solved. Just make sure you file the points on the springs where the spring contacts the screw claw and where it contacts the bridge block. File off the coating at those contact points or you will have some grounding issues quite possibly.
