Well I've finally gotten around to joining this cool Ernie Ball forum!
I've been a lurker for a while but always refrained from joining due to the embarrassment of not actually being a 'player' (sadly my cerebral palsy makes playing guitar an unobtainable dream
). I am however to fumble my way around a bass, but this is strictly behind closed doors and I wouldn't dream of inflict my playing on an audience no matter how receptive!
I've been a massive Toto and Luke fan since I first saw them live in 2004 and 2005 respectively, back when I was still an impressionable 17 year old, and I've been hooked ever since. It's therefore only logical that I have a 'thing' for MM Lukes, an indulgence that initially started with an OLP Luke and was recently bolstered with the coup of a Luke Dargie Delight mkII (Caramel Apple).
I’d been trying to acquire an original Luke Dargie mkI ever since seeing Luke debut it in Newcastle in 2007 on the Toto Falling In Between tour, but it turned out to be a fruitless search as they proved to be incredibly scarce. So when the chance came up to buy a Dargie mkII I didn’t think twice! It has been my pride and joy now for just over a year, and I can’t see myself parting with it, well except perhaps if the opportunity arose to own a Dargie mkI or the “holy grail” BFR True Gold, which is in my opinion one of the most beautiful colours of guitar ever to be conceived!
Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself by saying “Hi”. I look forward to hanging around the forum as a ‘real’ member now, and also the prospect of adding another MM Luke or two to my collection!…..
