For me it's the Bongo 5H. I just love the tone of it. Unlike some of you guys I don't tend to dial in a bunch of different tones. I typically dial in a tone that I like and just ride it out. I can change the tone somewhat with my fingers - which is definitely different than using the pickup switch - but it works for me.

I've had the Bongo 5HS, Sterling 5H and Big Al 5SSS. They were all really cool in one way or another but for me...the Bongo 5H just knocked my socks off. It's a unique and powerful animal and the tone just sits right for me. Punchy, lots of detail, lots of bass response but not overly deep that the tone gets lost in the mix, beautiful mids. Just cool all around.

My '99 SR5 does it for me. I don't have any particular desire for any other MusicMan bass, and I already have four other basses. Whichever one is in my arms is my favorite, but the SR5 is in heavy rotation.

A year ago it would have been the Sterling HS. This bass changed how I played and though of tone. Then this Feb I got a Big Al SSS, the one with the cherry burst and roasted neck. Not only is this the best looking I have ever seen the tones are amazine. I got this becuase I play a lot of different music types and wanted a lot of tones to match the songs, but I ended find what I call a magical tone. I play most of my music with all of the pickups on and in active mode. I find it sounds so clearn and smooth. I also like to use all of the buttons off in active or 1 and 2 on in passive.
