That's interesting. I've never known a piezo that was picky about the mechanical vibrations that it picks up.

It's more of a grounding issue and the piezos sounding like they are shorting out.

Maybe things have changed in the 9 years since I've tried it. If someone wants to send me a set of tapes, I'll be happy to try it out, again. :D

Woah, that's a lot of replies. Thank you everyone!

In regards to flats - nah, no thank you. I've had fretlesses in the past and always ran rounds, no issues. Sure it doesn't look perfectly smooth, but zero actual effect on anything.

Back of the neck is matte sparkle, just like the headstock:

The strings that are on it sound fine. I'll likely throw Circle Ks on it later, as that's what my 6er wears and I love them. I have about 10 sets of Slinky 5 (green pack) that I need to use up that this might wear for a bit though. I usually have them on my Sterling 5HH as I like them for it.

Beautiful bass. I have the green sparkle Bongo 5H and was immediately struck by how dead-cool the back of the neck looks in that "flat" sparkle.

Has anyone used cobalts on their fretless yet? Have them on my bongo 5 fretted and they sound awesome, there shouldn't be any issues with a fretless neck should there??

If you mean fret wear most likely not. EBMM uses Pao Ferro on the fretless because it's harder.

I just got my first fretless last week. An acoustic bass of another brand. I put nylon flats on it to compliment my fretted acoustic. The fretted for more aggressive songs and the fretless for the smooth buttery bass lines. The setup works for me to cover more range.
