Soundcloud Clip vvv
https://soundcloud.com/kenji20022/ebmm-jp6-bfr-koa-top-tone-demo

Quick little sound clip and cover of the beast, gave the keyboard solo in that song a go. Dirty Loops seriously kicks ass, check them out if you haven't yet, you don't know what you're missing.

Anyways, as always. Pictures first, review after.

Yeah. I still can't believe it myself. All I have to say is that I am definitely returning to Sweetwater for my next purchase, whatever it may be. If you guys know about my little debacle that I had with a previous guitar, this is basically the replacement that I found for it. I was told by my friend to check out Sweetwater since they had quite a few Rosewood Neck'd JP's coming in, and I figured I'd give it a shot.

The second I saw this, I called in and spoke to Matt and asked him a few questions. The first of which was, "How long can you hold this for me?" Being that I was still in the process of getting my refund from my other order, I didn't have the funds right then and there. What I like about Sweetwater is that it feels like those guys are doing more than just trying to sell you a guitar. After a few minutes the whole dealer issue I was having came up and I explained the situation to him. He was incredibly sympathetic and actually worked out a stupid good deal that I doubt any of you would have refused either lol!

A couple days later, and she arrives at my house and I'm just floored by this thing. I have to say, playing 2 other Koa JP's in the past that I wasn't expecting to like it at all, I've always preferred the standard BFR's since the Mahogany Body/Neck wasn't my thing on those 2. It must be the Rosewood Neck because it resonates insanely well and has quite a bit of snap without being too abrasive on the higher strings. The only thing I'd change is probably install a D-Activator Neck pickup, but before I do that I'm going to place some foam under the Liquifire and raise it to see how it fares. It sounds fine as is, but it is a bit of a contrast to the bridge in this guitar.

I'm really happy with it, and I honestly didn't expect to own a Koa Top'd JP of any sort anytime soon. But it worked out nicely in the end now I just have to decide what tuning I want to throw it in.

Johnathan my friend, I have currently run dry of sexually charged metaphors to use to express my feelings for this new axe you've gotten.

Know only that I think it's freaking beast and HNGD again xD

Thanks dude! I definitely am enjoying them, I replaced the JP12-7 with a JPXI 6 string, and the BFR-7 with this Koa Top and I couldn't be happier. I plan on doing a full Youtube Review of each one and showcase what they each sound like!

That rosewood has some of the best grain I've ever seen, congrats on a killer guitar

Thanks dude! I love the grain on the headstock as well the whole guitar looks literally on fire! :D

WOW! that is one amazing looking guitar! Congrats !!!!

Thanks buddy! :D

What a stunning piece of art!..I have a friend who has a Koa Suhr, and his looks dull, compared to yours..Congrats on a beautiful guitar.
Now you've got me even more excited for my Cherry Burst..
I will say one thing,i bet this looks even more amazing when viewed close up...Pics never do the finishes justice
When i got my Mystic Dream,i was blown away!!
Great playing too!

I'm going to have to agree, pictures do very little to showcase how the guitar really fares in person. That cherry burst will look seriously killer, I love the Cherry Burst over their Quilts! Thanks for the kind words :)

Are you intentionally eliminating your seven stringers?

Not necessarily, if I'm being honest my favorite out of the bunch is the JPX7. Which I play collectively far more than any of the others, it just has something really killer about it that makes me want to keep playing it. I sold the JP12-7 at a killer price for my friend, and the BFR-7 had a few issues so I got my funds back from it and spent it on the Koa top.

It does look that way, but I'm getting one more 7 string soon. Just have to decide on what!
