I use elixir 10's and try to get the action as low as possible. It seems that 3/64 on the treble and 4/64 on the bass is low enough, I don't fret out anywhere, even on big bends.

I use Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys (10s). I have tried so many brands but keep coming back to those Regular slinkys.... I do need to try the M-Steells... but like the cobalts, I'll probably come back to the Regular Slinkys . Action height? As low as it will go without too much buzz... haven't measured for a while but I think I'm at 1 mm and 2 MM give or take depending on which guitar.

9's here. Even on my 7. Initially was using Elixirs, but after experimenting with other brands it seems to me that the piezo saddles are happier with regular, uncoated strings. Was getting a lot of buzzing through the piezo at first with Elixirs. As per MM tech, "creasing the string over the saddle will get a better contact". This always resolved it temporarily but it would keep coming back. With super slinkys it doesn't happen near as much. Just my 2 cents...

I use EB regular slinky 10s on my JP BFR and JP70. I didn't try the M-Steel yet but I like the cobalt. For the price I went with slinky for now. I don't know exactly the measure of my action set up but I get it pretty low, like the set up factory or so. But when I was recording I heard some buzz on the track so I raise my action a bit and re-recorded them. I guess when I'll keep it low for everyday practice and recording solo but rise a bit for rhythmic tracks. Is this happen to someone else ?

I currently have EB 10s on my JP6. I'm going to try super slinkys next, to brighten the guitar and make it sound less compressed. If I don't like it, I'll order some 9.5-44 from d'addario. If I still don't like that, back to EB 10s.
I like to set the action to that sweet spot, as low as it can get without losing the low-end fullness.

I use 10-46 EB strings and set the string height by feel, resulting in slightly different setups for each guitar.

Checking my 2 main gigging guitars with a machinist's rule the '08 BFR rosewood neck JP is set at 2/64" from E-e, while the other is just below 3/64 from E-e. The rest of my JPs have similar set-ups, a bit lower than factory spec.
