Got this from Guitar Center online. They had the usual terrible dark photo in the ad, but I asked the sales guy to send me some better shots - so I bought it. When I got it, the guitar wasn't really blue - it's more Aqua/Teal.

Best part is aside from some wear on the 2nd and 3rd fret G string, the frets are perfect. This must have been bought as a learner that wasn't used much? There is a small ding on the headstock and minor ones on the back, but the neck is near perfect and so comfy! Like an old friend. Feels VERY much like the EVH I sold last year. It even has a "Tone" knob - guess the PO was an EVH fan! The guitar sounds great, and the tiny neck was strange when I had the EVH but maybe I didn't give it enough time to get used to it. When I play my Charvel after the Axis the Charvel neck feels way too flat!

Speaking of flat, anyone with a Gotoh Floyd owes it to themselves to get a set of Allparts saddle shims. The radius is completely mismatched (neck 10, Gotoh 14), and the E strings are way higher than the rest. With the shims (2 under each middle saddle), the action is perfect now, and you can feel the rounder radius.

I have 30 days, but I think it's a keeper. PS it's NOT blue!

I wish Guitar Center would take better pictures and have a more accurate description of their used gear. It really puts me off their vast used inventory.

I agree, for this Axis, it said "EBMM Axis guitar w/ case". Yeah, that really tells all! And I wish I saved the photo they used - guitar looked black. If they posted a photo like the ones above, it would have sold for more than I got it for!

Totally agree. It's horrible; all their Carvin guitars (or other high-end/custom guitars) have a short three or four word description. I keep emailing about certain guitars and they say, "We'll get back to you" but they never do. You can't just say "Pewter Carvin 7-string guitar WC" - I need to know pup config, woods, frets, tuners, etc. There are SO many variables with some of those guitars. Anyway, /rant.

TC: AMAZING guitar. I love the contrast of that fretboard with the teal. It's beautiful. I WISH my learner guitar was a MM Axis lol.

Very nice. I loved the look of my trans blue axis with when it was dark blue in photos .....not so much when it was aqua in person. I know exactly what you're referring to.

My old white JP6 was super white with camera flash but more off white cream in person.

I find that color very hard to photograph as well. Mine is Trans Blue, and in person it does have a teal'ish' look to it, but in every photo it looks like the same blue like your pics.
Congrats on the new guitar, it looks awesome

Thanks! It's so strange, I had the guitar in a sunny room yesterday, and it looked like pure Turquoise - really nice. Get the DSLR, and it takes a blue photo yet again! What is it about this color and cameras not picking up the Teal/Turquoise pigments??

Congrats Andy!

True, the g.c. pics and descriptions are pretty bad, but a hassle-free 30 day return policy balances that out (sort of).

Thanks! Depending on the lighting, it could be the Atlantic, or Pacific ocean!

Love the way the old blues fade... I regret selling mine... But I got the green axis out of that sale so it balances out!

Green, blue, gold, either way - an Axis is a killer guitar - once the Floyd is set up right! Speaking of, Guitar Center forgot to send me the original tremolo arm - and they lost it.
They sent me a newer pop in bar which of course doesn't fit. Now they are checking with EBMM to see if they have the older (2001) style bars. Hope I can either get an older one, or, change the mount to fit the pop in bar?
