Okay, good people of the forum, here it is,my new guitar

As i mentioned a while back, this guitar is very special to me,as is my mystic dream..
This one however is one i ordered with the money my dad left me last year, after her passed away due to cancer
I have many happy memories of my father..When i was little,he would always have music on..I remember head banging to AC/DC..I was convinced Bon Scott was a woman,he could reach such high notes..
I said to my Dad one day,he's killed the guitar player..It was the back of if you want blood on vinyl
He just laughed..I laughed a lot with my Dad,he helped me through a lot of bad times when i was younger, and i will always be forever be grateful for the values he instilled in me
I know everyone says their Dad is their hero..He was mine, and now i feel very empty..Im in a rut in my life,i do not like my job,and if he were with me,i could talk to him about it..He always made me feel better
The worst thing was i could not repay that when he was in so much pain.I regret that to this day,and i lost a lot of hope when he passed

My comfort has always been music..I am not even the best guitar player in my house, and i live on my own..hahaha..I just find it theraputic, and he helped me discover so many good bands
When i was learning guitar,i was about ready to give up,when one day,he said, was that the cd,or you
It was simple kindness like that, that really made me smile..It encouraged me to do better, not just at playing guitar, but in life too

When i saw DT in february, without John Petrucci knowing,he gave me back a little bit of hope,of so much awe and inspiration..I know he wont read this, but thanks John, you gave me my smile back that night.

The guitar itself..WOW!!..It growls, the deep resonance, the pure power of tone, really took my breath away..
I just get better and better with my playing..The piezo almost sounds like a jumbo acoustic
I noticed Greg saying that you get a good sense of an electric guitar unplugged..Very true.
Seriously,it gave me a kick in my stomach...It is a thing of beauty, and i was glad i could honour my Dad in this way

Whoever built this guitar,i would personally like to thank,as positive feedback is something people forget. To quick to complain..You made a guitar worthy of my fathers memory..
To everyone at Musicman..BP.all the hard working staff,i thoroughly commend and give gracious thanks for all your hard work..It is very pleasing that in this day and age, there are still companies that care about their craftsmanship.I've had many guitars, but none have compared to my two JP6's,soon to be a Majesty too!
Keep up the good work!

Oh and for anyone who is on the fence regarding painted/unfinished necks on the BFR..I have been playing the guitar solidly for a week now,and i havent even noticed the difference in comparison to my mystic dream
High gloss polyester is nothing like nitro cellulose..You dont get stuck, well trying to play JP's stuff i do,but nothing to do with finished necks ;)

I remember BP saying a while ago,if its good enough for JP,well........
Sums that answer up eh?

Barry, sounds like your Dad was a great man, and it's nice that you can recall and share some of those memories with us here. You're an alright guy for doing so. I have had many, many guitars come and go in my day and I know that there are a few that will remain in my life forever, to be passed down to my Son (and his children). EBMM are quality instruments that should be handed down for generations to come. Along with the ride should be the memories that you and your Father had that were very special, and it seems like you'll do the same with your children for them to remember. Enjoy the BFR! It's top notch, and now has a very special place in your heart with a story that goes along with it. Welcome to the family..

Thank you Sir,your words are very kind and comforting, and truly appreciated..Im sure your Son knows he has a great father, and i hope you both keep making special memories together, through the power of music.
I know what you mean about Music Man guitars..
Till i got my JP6 Mystic Dream, and now my BFR,every guitar felt dead, some totally unplayable, lacking something..Now its like my guitar playing has been taken to a whole new level..I have had many moments of inspiration
Before i bought my JP6,i was in a rut musically, and felt like giving up guitar playing, and then i really got back into music, listening to DT,and thought if i can afford JP's guitar,i will start playing again,as he has been a very big musical influence, not just guitar wise, but for his melodies and lyrics

Thanks again, and for the welcome..I am, along with you,and the many special people on this forum,in highly esteemed company
