I've been doing circles today, going from my axis to my jp6 to my luke3 to my albert lee. Each are awesome guitars that sound quite different but yet equally pleasing. My strat is the only non ebmm guitar left in my collection. If it didn't have a lot of sentimental value to me I would sell it to fund another ebmm. I've played dozens of guitars throughout the years and I feel ebmm is the clear winner. You might spend a little more than you would compared to some other brands but I don't regret any of my purchases. Thank you ebmm for making the best gear on the planet!

I find the only problem now is getting excited when friends get new guitars that are like, LTDs or low/medium-rung Ibanezes, Schecters, Fenders, Gibsons... You can't help but fumble in your mind for a minute a way to not hurt their feelings about how their best guitar is absolute **** compared to even your "worst" EBMM and try to feign excitement lol

Gotta say though, I also get a little butt-hurt when a fellow guitarist doesn't know about Music Man. Like the guy that showed me his LTD had a blank/neutral expression when I told him about my Majesty. I was like, "Dude - the appropriate response, when someone tells you they have a Majesty is 'ZOMG ofghgdskjh HRrrnnnnnggggg... *seizure* *conniption* *coma* *recovery* *breath* WOW can I play it NOW srs?'"

Kids these days. Ruined by the cruddy mediocrity & bread-and-butter brands that keep local music stores in business. Haha I'm such a snob now.

It's actually a real problem for me. I don't stop recommending them when anyone asks about what guitar they should get.

Another forum I'm on has a current thread titled, "best strat for $2000 or less". Criteria was best feeling and sounding.

One guy beat me to it (and he's one solid guy without doubt) and said Albert Lee SSS. End of story. That's the guitar.

Keep in mind boys that there are plenty of people making great music using other brands. And they are quite happy doing so.
I never feel it's right to start spreading the Kool-aid around concerning any 'brand' of instrument.
Music is art, and instruments are tools...

Yep, I have a couple of other brands in my collection, but the EBMM guitars are what I play 90% of the time.

This is very true, but I can't help but be totally uninterested in other guitars. Other brands are mostly incompatible with my hands (other than replacement part companies, where I can replicate the traits I enjoy from an EBMM).

Although I find myself uninterested in other brands, I completely agree with your comment on the Kool-Aid. We need to remind ourselves not to become a cult based on our preferences, and while I have found this forum to be my favorite, this sort of community is exactly how social inbreeding starts.

We have found a mightier tool, now lets make sure we do not become mightier tools.

Every instrument feels different to every pair of hands. I agree that musicman guitars and basses are amazing but I also own other brands and find them all to have their own merits. I played a crafter acoustic bass the other day and it played amazingly. It's unfair to advise younger players what they should and shouldn't play. You can advise them but ultimately the only way to find your preferred make/model is to play as many makes as you can.

I have no problem with someone saying something like "MusicMan (or..???) guitars are fabulous, and they are the best for me.. and I highly recommend them..."
What does bother me is when someone says something like "(insert brand/model here) is the best guitar, and anything else sucks. Your guitar sucks because it's not my guitar..."

I see this A LOT on other forums and I just feel it reflects badly on whatever brand is being touted as the only guitar worthy of owning/playing/etc...

MusicMan is a FANTASTIC company and they make FANTASTIC instruments, and I'd hate to see/read anything that could be interpreted as disrespectful associated with them...

*please excuse my little rant... I'm old and I've been tired lately...

Variety is the spice of life! No need to put anyone else down, these are excellent instruments that not everyone can afford. Most people and even students of mine are saving up for them since they get a chance to play on mine and some really enjoy them!
