I've been enjoying my newly rescued Bongo, and as a result, my non-MM second bass has been getting severely neglected. So it was with much excitement that I found a semi-local Craigslist post looking to trade a 90's Stingray for *exactly* the bass I had sitting in my closet. After trading a few e-mails, we met up yesterday and made the exchange...
My new bass is a 1993 or 94 Stingray (have to resubmit the serial number in the DOB thread - typed the wrong one in yesterday by mistake), trans teal, birdseye maple neck, rosewood board, with a Hipshot added. The best part so far is that is weighs exactly 9 pounds, which is pretty light compared to Stingray's I've had in the past. The teal is growing on me, and the only thing I need to do is re-string the G-string, which is currently wrapped around the wrong side of the post.
I thought I got super lucky with my bongo, which is well under 8 pounds, but this Stingray at 9 pounds has me convinced that the bass gods are smiling on me. Even though I haven't had a chance to plug it in yet, acoustically everything is loud and clear, so it should be a monster.
Now the hardest part of playing is deciding which awesome bass I'm going to pick up. I'm totally OK with that.
Since I know everybody really only wants to see pics, here you go...
