i'm noticing the same with my PDN maple SM. it is noticeably snappier than either my PDN rw SM or my old morse. i find myself playing it more and more and plan to use it on a gig in palm springs coming up.
i'm curious what the PDN stingray bass is like... anyone know where one is?

It is great... My first Stingray with dual HB. Gets everything from the MM growl to a great JB sound. Love the 5-way switch splitting. Neck seems more rounded over than I'm used to, but I not complaining. It is a great feeling and playing bass...has become my #1 on the low end...
