Hey guys! So this is my first post, and actually my first ever music man guitar! I just bought off ebay a few days ago a Majesty 7. It hasn't arrived yet but I'm pretty damned excited. Anyways, the guitar has some minor scratches on the back of the guitar, and a ding on the headstock. I know its a pity, but I want to do my best to make it look like new. So I wanted to know what to do to buff out the scratches and maybe make the ding less noticeable. I'm pretty afraid to damage the finish or anything so I'll let you experts chime in. Here are some pics of the damage:

This are the photos of the ebay listing, and this are the ones that show the scratches and ding the most. It had several other pictures that made them look very minor. But I think this guitar deserves to be spotless so I will really appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

Are you going to gig with this guitar? Then you can't avoid scratches and dings short-term or long term...

Anyway, I tried to do a search on this forum but could not find a direct link as I think this has been talked about. I suspect you could try to use any of the car scratch removal products but I could be wrong. Or some point painting with a small brush using the right color.

Of course I'll gig with this guitar! This beast deserves to be heard! And well, your point is valid, but I want to keep the dings and scratches as toned down as possible. Its more of a maintenance thing, than pampering it. If I get one scratch, buff it out, then the next one and attack them as they come or something like that.

can't help with advice :( but are minor ding/scratches I wouldn't worry to much though I can understand the feeling being a home player only with immaculate guitars =))
how much did you pay for it in this "awful" condition? :p

Hehe, in this horrendous, bent out of shape condition I payed 2250 bucks for it. Plus he was the only guy who would ship one of this internationally, couldn't miss out on that.

Yeah, I had my ebay app notifying me as well, this one just popped up, and I snatched it. I think it could get to the guiness world records book on fastest ending listing on ebay. :D Don't worry about it, you'll have yours soon!

Hi, you should contact customer service - they know the exact product to use.

Since this is a matte finish, you need to use a certain product. Sorry, I can't remenber the details and I'm at work so I can't keep searching. It's important to use a product that is for matte finishes or else you'll end up with a very different looking spot.

Good Luck!

P.S. - Welcome to the forum!!!

Yeah dude... I wouldn't even fret about it (get it? Fret??)

If you're going to gig it, just forget about it and enjoy your new beautiful guitar. The dings are coming regardless, focus on the positive. :)
