i think foggy needs to be slapped a bit around with a trout...

to me the concept of a natural wood neck on the bongo is the big deal.. no need to go all psychicpet on the paint (pun intended ;)) on the back of the neck..
also, rosewood and orange body is one nice combination :)

yet, that is what it feels like for me.. you are of course not allowed to have a different opinion ;) ;)

Bump for an old thread and a new owner (me) of this great looking firemist rosewood bongo. Got it online from GC in Ohio on 30 days return program. Any history on this one I need to know about? I put TI Flats on it today for a test drive. Very very smooth player.

As much as I loved the feel of this 2009 Rosewood BFR Bongo bass (I definitely think the MM all rosewood necks have the best feel of any neck I've played), I decided to take her back to Guitar Center on their return policy. I paid top dollar for it, but it ended up having three blemishes and a touch of a dead spot on the D string at the 9th fret (B-note). Looks like the neck was replaced by EBMM on warranty repair in Oct 2012, also. The serial is F21100. Actually, I'm not sure it is the bass that started this thread, after all. But how many firemist 2009 BFR Bongo 4HH's found their way to Ohio? Perhaps two of them.

I was pondering getting a Morse or a Silo or an Albert Lee in this color with that pickguard combo, and after seeing this I definitely wanna do it!
