Hello! I noticed that Music Man JP BFR bariton is no longer available on the Web site. Did they were phased out of production?

Apparently. It's kind of a shame too, I can't play a seven string anymore due to Rheumatoid arthritis, but a six string baritone is fine, however the Silhouette bass is too long of a scale. I would love to track down a JP7 baritone

I heard the baritones weren't selling enough (nor were the double necks) and that was it for them in the new year. (of course none of this is official...but neither of those are on the website any longer).

That sucks. You would think the costs would be in the initial development of the product. Especially where they are made to order.
Sorry to hear.

I'm disappointed to hear this. I love my Amethyst Burst Baritone, but I had hoped to add a sweet Trans Black with stainless frets to my arsenal at some point. I can totally understand the economics of the decision though!

Was there ever a non-BFR baritone? I would love a baritone but I couldn't afford the BFR lol.

What about the 'Silhouette Bass'? I thought that was basically the same thing, or am I way off?

No. The biggest difference is that the Silhouette has a scale length of 29.6" vs. the JP baritone at 27.5". It's primarily designed to be tuned E-E an octave down from a regular guitar, and you'd have to buy special strings because it's so long. The baritone is only 2" longer than the normal 25.5" scale so most regular guitar strings would still work.

if JP wants one then we can make a few but if the bfr stopped dead Im not sure that a bari majesty will be high up the priority

Sorry to hear that Mr. Ball. That was a great guitar. Just out of curiosity, if someone places an order will you still make one? Or is it a question of satisfying a minimum number of orders from dealer to produce them?
